It is the foundation of the Adrian Empire to award rank and station to members based on merit, and effort, and not on opinion. To that end, there are finite requirements for advancement in each discipline of Knighthood. Yet in Constantinople such does not negate the ideals of chivalry, nor the expectation of its members to constantly strive for and treat others with such ideals. For it is the accomplishment of deeds as well as the merits of character which truly define a Knight.
The Light of Chivalry is to remind us that the true light of chivalry radiates from our souls. It is a living entity of power and beauty among us. It has no shape or form yet makes us aware that we are still under its spell. The past which brought it forth and nourished it has disappeared. Yet, just as the stars in the sky continue to bathe us in their radiance so does the light of chivalry. It illuminates our mortal path and chases away the darkness.
